Meet our founding team

Dr. Justinas Pupeikis

Justinas is an entrepreneurial-minded photonics professional. With over a decade of experience in the field and a global network of connections, he has established himself as an emerging leader in the field of ultrafast lasers. He successfully completed the Bridge Proof of Concept program which was at the roots of the first K2 Photonics products.

He is committed to driving the growth of the company and making dual-comb laser technology widely available to customers in a range of industries.

Dr. Benjamin Willenberg

Benjamin is a leading expert in the field of ultrafast optics and laser technology. He has obtained his PhD at ETH Zurich in 2019 and since then worked on developing dual-comb lasers and their applications as part of a Bridge Discovery project.

He is responsible for leading the company’s technology development efforts and ensuring that our products remain at the forefront of the industry.

Dr. Lukas Lang

Lukas is a skilled engineer with a PhD in Physics from ETH Zurich, where he worked on developing one of the world’s most powerful ultrafast oscillators. He also has extensive experience in real-time dual-comb LiDAR signal processing and automation of measurement systems.

He leads the hardware development team and is responsible for the design and production of our innovative dual-comb laser products.

Prof. Ursula Keller

Professor Ursula Keller invented the core SESAM technology (semiconductor saturable absorber mirrors) over 30 years ago, and has been pushing the performance and frontiers of ultrafast lasers since then. The performance, simplicity, cost, and reliability of the SESAM approach to enable robust commercial products has been widely adopted in industry, from multiple start-ups and spin-off of ETH to the largest multinational photonics companies worldwide.

Invented and developed by her and her research group at ETH over the last decade, the dual-comb ultrafast laser enables another new class of performance features and applications.

As our scientific advisor, Professor Keller provides key guidance and insight to help us develop cutting-edge laser technology to meets the needs of our customers and the industry, and she continues to further develop this technology, enabling the potential of these lasers for even more important high-impact applications.
